Hackers take veterinary office’s phone system hostage

Investigators are trying to track down whoever has taken a Concord business’ phone lines hostage.

The owner of AVC Emergency Veterinary of Manchester and Concord said she is refusing to give in to the hackers, saying that if she does, they’ll just keep hitting other businesses in the area.

On Wednesday night, the veterinary office began receiving robocalls that jammed the lines for 20 minutes. The business then got an email from the hackers demanding that the business transfer them $1,400 in bitcoins or the phones would be jammed again.
