Was it Really the Russians – House of Democrats Fire it Staff

This is something that the mainstream media will not talk about. It looks like maybe the Russians did not hack the Democrats and released the emails after all. It looks like maybe the blame goes back to 3 brothers, Abid, Imran, and Jamal Awan.

Was It Really the Russians – House Democrats Fire IT Staff

Craig Peterson: It’s time for another TechSanity Check. Craig Peterson here and we got a whopper today. This is something I predicted the mainstream media is not going to talk about. No, not my company Mainstream, but the mainstream media. We, of course, heard nothing about this. You know, we’ll see what happens. Apparently investigations been going on over a year. And guess what? It looks like maybe the Russians did not hack the Democrats and released the emails after all. No, no, no. Maybe not. It looks like maybe the blame goes back to 3 brothers, Abid, Imran, and Jamal Awan. Hmm. Interesting names as well. But, yeah. So we’re gonna talk about that today, right here, right now.

I had a good interview this morning of WGAN. I always enjoy that. I always enjoy talking about the Patriots, not that I’m a big football fan or frankly, any sport for that matter. But I do, frankly, enjoy seeing a good game and wow was it ever a good game. Well played. Well played. So, we talked about the tech, of course, as we always do. And we talked about Lady Gaga and the drones and everything else. So, anyhow, it was fun this morning. And we also got into Jeff’s sessions a little bit because the house yesterday just passed a bill that it flew through the house that requires a full-fledged warrant and a judge to get involved in order to get into your emails. And of course the Electronics Communications Privacy Act is a big deal. So, we’ll try and talk about that tomorrow. I’m writing a note to myself about that now… Electronics Communications Privacy Act. So we’ll talk about that a little bit tomorrow here on the show. Madam producer remind me about that. And then let’s get into today.

So, this is very, very, very, very interesting. This I found out on the Daily Caller. There are other places that you’ll find it out there. And I was a little surprised to hear Rush Limbaugh’s morning update today talk about this as well. But not terribly surprised. He does keep an eye on things. But I’m looking at a picture right now of Imran Awan with Bill Clinton. Now, I’m gonna put a link to this in the podcast so you’ll see it right there if you want a little bit more information about it. But Imran Awan is one of three brothers here. Abid and Jamal are his two siblings and apparently they have been barred from computer networks at the House of Representatives.

Now, what’s interesting about this is that these 3 brothers provided computer IT support for a number of different Democrats in the House as well as, of course, our wonderful representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the Florida Democrat, who was also the head of the Democratic National Committee during her disastrous 2016 campaign run, where her emails were, of course, sent out for the rest of the world to see. Remember what she was saying? She was saying just terrible things, incredible things. Most intolerant woman I’ve ever seen. Wait a minute, she can’t be intolerant. She’s a democrat. And she was of course the one who was helping to orchestrate Hillary Clinton absolutely winning and making sure that there’s no chance that Bernie Sanders could win the Democratic nomination, right? That’s the woman.

And all kinds of emails were released. Remember there’s an, oh it’s the Russians, it’s the Russians, it’s the Russians. It was Putin. Putin personally hacked the computers of the Democratic committee. Now I’m starting to wonder here.

Starting to wonder. Because 3 members of the intelligence panel, and 5 members of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, were among the dozens of members of the House who employed these 3 men on a shared basis. 2 committees deal with many of the nation’s most sensitive issues and documents including those related to the war on terrorism. Interesting, no? Interesting.

Now it’s also interesting to note these 3 brothers are accused here, or at least they’re suspected. I don’t know if they’ve been charged quite yet. But they have been basically fired of several different violations including accessing members’ computer networks without their knowledge and stealing equipment from Congress. Now remember they had access to these emails. By doing this. They had access to Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s emails which would’ve included all of the stuff that was released, at least most of it. We don’t know exactly what she had. And we may never know, frankly here.

Jamal handled the IT for Representative Castro, Texas Democrat that serves on both the intelligence and foreign affairs panels. And a quote here from a press release from Castro’s spokeswoman. “As of February 2nd, his employment with our office has been terminated.” Jamal also worked for Louisiana Democrat rep Richmond, who’s in the committee on Homeland Security. Imran worked for Representative Carson, an Indiana Democrat; Spire, a California Democrat, both members of the Intelligence Committee. And their spokesman did not respond to the daily callers’ request for comments. Imran also worked for the House Office of Wasserman Schultz. Then Rep Tammy Duckworth, an Illinois Democrat, employed a bid for IT work. She’s a member of the House Committee dealing with the Arms Committee Oversight in Benghazi. Duckworth was elected to the senate in November 2016. Abid, by the way, has a prior criminal record, as well as a bankruptcy. Abid also worked for Rep Lois Frankel, a Florida Democrat who’s a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee. These 3 men are called shared employees. They’re hired by multiple offices. They split the salaries and use them as needed for IT services. And so each member individually is gonna have to fire them.

Now this is the part that I think is particularly interesting because a criminal investigation apparently started late last year into 5 unnamed people, related to serious and potentially illegal violations of House IT policies. Chiefs of Staffs for the members were briefed Thursday by the Sergeant-at-Arms. Capitol Police spokeswoman said that the investigation was still ongoing, and arrests have not been made but staff were “asked to update their security settings.”

Ok, so this goes right back to something that it should be just a regular Sanity thing for almost anyone out there. First of all, do background checks. If you are involved with top secret information, you just can’t have this type of person working for you. Ok? Who’s gonna access information, access your networks, access your computers without your consent and maybe do something nefarious with that information. You just can’t do it. So wake up a little bit. Now our regular business, you need somebody trustworthy. How do you figure that out? Well, again, you could do a background check. But it doesn’t always show everything up. So how do you supervise your IT people? Well, that’s a good question as well. How do you know that your IT people aren’t taking your information on accessing your stuff that maybe they shouldn’t have access to? That goes back to segmenting your data. Making sure that only people who have a need to know, need to know. We’re gonna do a show about that as well. We’ll talk a little bit about that as well, and some of the consequences that people have been having lately when it comes to the need to know and accessing all of that information. But at this point, these guys, it looks like there’s maybe a bit of a problem here. It’s interesting that all of their clients are Democrats. I guess it’s not too surprising considering it’s Washington DC. But real problem, I’ve seen it before. I’ve seen IT people who have done nefarious things again and again. Most of the time they just lie to you about what their capabilities are, what they’ve done, but I can get a lot, lot worse.

Anyways, a little TechSanity Check about your IT people. Make sure you subscribe to our podcast here, dailies and otherwise. Every day we release a new one. Well every week day and then on the weekends, of course, on my live radio show heard on iHeart Radio. I’m heard live every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday as well on iHeart. And I’m heard throughout the states of… all of New England now frankly. So I think that’s pretty cool as well. http://CraigPeterson.com/itunes. Have a great day. Thanks ever so much for listening. I really appreciate it. We’ll talk tomorrow.
